Week 2, Part IV

Time Bender: from Novice to Wisdom

Every aspect of my circuitry design is neutral (i.e., not inherently bad or good). It can show up in positive or negative ways. No one starts their life with a thorough understanding of how to live out their circuitry design, so this can be thought of as moving from novice expression to wise expression. The novice expression is also referred to as “shadow” expression, which refers to the lack of awareness about what’s being experienced or why that leads to an expression that comes out of confusion and fear.

Once I gain awareness of how an aspect of my circuitry functions (e.g., Type), I start to gain experience working with it. Every aspect presents lessons and challenges. As I grow through those, I cultivate the most positive expression – the expression that comes with wisdom. Shadow aspects may still pop out at times, and that’s okay. When I have awareness, shadow expressions become merely signals to me that I can use for course correction in a more beneficial direction.

Expression isn’t either/or; it’s a developmental spectrum from novice to wisdom. Once I’ve achieved wise expression in some areas, new situations may come up that trigger expression more toward the novice side. Growing toward wisdom in new ways is generally easier and faster than the initial learning.

Regardless, shadow expressions should never be considered a failure. Expressing the best version of myself is an ongoing developmental process of learning, adapting, and growing. Any misstep is simply a learning experience to integrate and then move forward.

Holding onto shame or guilt due to missteps only interferes with wise expression, so it doesn’t benefit me or anyone else who may have been involved. Releasing shame and guilt so I’m free to be a better version of myself is always the most important part of making things right with anyone I may have hurt during a misstep. How others receive that and respond is an aspect of their development. It’s not a reflection of my lovability or self-worth.

Novice Expression

When unbalanced, I struggle with the Generator theme of quitting before mastery, as the Alchemist does. My frustration is more intense and edgier, mixed with the anger of creative disruption. This is a symptom of the quality and quantity of energy that I naturally carry.

Imbalanced can also cause me to build up intense amounts of energy in my body that I sometimes have to work hard to shut down, disconnecting me from my inner creative flow and my natural power.

Disconnection from the response mechanism of my Intuitive wisdom can often lead me to create from the ideas in my mind, causing me to expend massive amounts of energy with little return, triggering frustration and anger.

If I force myself to only focus on creating in a limited way and/or believe that I’m “scattered” and unfocused if I multi-task, I’ll also build up energy in my body that can cause me to experience deep frustration and anger.

Whether misuse of my energy leads to buildup of excess or expending it all with little to no return, imbalance will eventually lead to burnout and/or disconnection from what makes me creative and powerful, as well as ineffective solutions.

Lessons/Challenges

    • To learn to wait for the next right step, to inform before acting, and to accept that not all actions need to result in the success I first envision.
    • To recognize that my role is to find the most efficient way to create.
    • To embrace the inner sense of timing married with action that is unique to Time Benders and to follow this at my own correct speed without self-judgement.

Once I’ve gained initial mastery with these lessons, they’ll likely come up again in new challenges. If my behavior with a new challenge is in the novice direction at first, I shouldn’t interpret this as backsliding. These are simply opportunities to grow in new ways that strengthen my skills, and I should consider their occurrence to be a sign of my progress.

Wisdom and Optimal Expression

When masterful, I’m aware of my power and speed. I’m deeply conscious of those around me and who will be impacted by my fast response to life. I treat them with care and respect to the best and ability and expect the same in return. I’m tuned into the inner signal of my Intuitive Center and wait for something to respond to before I leap into action.

My capacity to “do” changes the story of what can be done in time and on time. My inner alignment binds me to a creative flow that brings change, transformation and creativity to the world in new ways.

With wisdom gained from my own experience, I’m wise about which steps are necessary to create masterfully and which steps can be skipped.

When I’ve learned the art of responding, I have the capacity to bring creative projects to fulfillment and to become masterful over how to work directly with my creative flow and my experience of time. My capacity to “do” transforms people’s perceptions of what’s possible.

Affirmations for Wise Expression

• I move faster than most people; my speed and my ability to create many things simultaneously gives me a unique perspective on how to get things done on the planet.
• Because I have a lot of energy, I need a lot of movement to stay healthy and strong.
• It’s healthy for me to multi-task; I need to do more than one thing at a time to move my energy.
• Not everything that I do is meant to create the result that I’m envisioning.
• The purpose of multi-tasking is to burn off the extra energy that I carry, not to finish everything.
• The things that are mine to complete and bring to the world will align with my inner sense of timing married with action.
• I am careful to let the people around me know what I’m doing so that they can stand back and let me create at my own speed.

Contemplations

    1. How do I manage my energy? Am I getting enough physical activity? What does my body feel like if I don’t move enough?
    2. How do I feel about myself if I work on something that doesn’t work out the way I hoped?
    3. What needs to be healed, released, aligned, and/or brought to my awareness for me to be more gentle and self-accepting?
(This question is designed to put out into the universe as a request to be shown answers. It’s a good one to ask before meditating or going to sleep).
    4. What can I see in my life (present or past) that I consider to reflect novice expression?
    5. What can I see in my life (present or past) that I consider to reflect wiser expression?
    6. What needs to be healed, released, aligned, and/or brought to my awareness for me to move toward wiser expression?
(This question is designed to put out into the universe as a request to be shown answers. It’s a good one to ask before meditating or going to sleep. Tapping on the center of my forehead while I ask the question(s) will help provide a physical signal to myself of my intention to process this while sleeping).

If I want more insight, I can always request a message from the universe.
