Activated Centers
Mind, Throat, Biological Instincts, Intuitive
An activated Center has a consistent way of operating and is part of who I am. This is the energy that I radiate out into the world. It operates the same way energetically and thematically regardless of context.
Complete Channels (activated Gates on both sides) activate both Centers connected by the Channel. My activated Centers represent aspects of my personality that are consistent and true about me all the time – no matter where I am, who I’m with, or what’s happening in the world. I can change how my activated Centers express as I overcome challenges, master lessons, and gain wisdom, but it won’t be changed by any external influence unless I allow it (consciously or unconsciously).
Receptive Centers
Inspiration, Heart, Will, Creative, Root
If a Center isn’t connected to a complete channel, then it’s receptive. Receptive Centers are where I pick up signals and information from the world around me. Not only do I receive signals transmitted by other people through my receptive Centers, I also amplify them, which makes my experience of these signals intense and powerful. It is in these receptive Centers that I have the potential for great wisdom, but also the potential for pain and confusion.
Since the energy I’m experiencing in receptive areas is coming from outside of myself, what I experience in these areas will be inconsistent and variable. I may often mistakenly think something is coming from within me when I’m actually just receiving and amplifying something created by someone else. The more receptive Centers I have in my chart, the more sensitive I am and the more wisdom I’m able to gain about the potential of the human experience.
Example: since I have a receptive Creative Center, I absorb other people’s emotions and mood cycles, and I feel them stronger than the person actually generating and transmitting the feelings. It also makes me capable of significant empathy. With awareness, this empathy can be a great source of wisdom. For instance, it’s a great asset if I’m serving as any kind of coach, teacher, guide, counselor, etc. When I’m aware of how it functions, I have the wisdom to recognize when I’m picking up on emotions or moods that don’t belong to me. With good boundaries, I can use that understanding to recognize how to help people in a healthy way without identifying with or taking responsibility for the signals they’re transmitting.
If I lack this awareness and work in service to others (either professionally or personally), I can easily end up feeling compelled to make people feel “good” in any area I have passivity so that I’ll experience “good” feelings from them instead of “bad” ones. In situations with overwhelming emotional intensity, I’ll soak it up like a sponge and burn out very quickly. The key is learning to use my receptive Creative Center as a screen, allowing all of that emotional information to pass through me. If I don’t hold on to it (i.e., don’t claim it as my own), then I don’t burn out.
Receptive Centers create predictable behavioral themes. These themes can sometimes cause me to engage in self-defeating patterns and habits that hold me back from accessing the wisdom that my receptive Centers offer. These themes can also cause me to act out in the world in ways that are not in alignment with my Authentic Self. Awareness is the best antidote; this experiment will allow me to gain and test that awareness.
Children who are emotionally receptive (i.e., have a receptive Creative Center) sometimes get labeled as being “dramatic”. What they’re doing is taking in all the emotional energy from the people around them and acting it out. Emotionally receptive children cay get labeled as “disturbed” when they are, in fact, acting out the emotional health of their family or even emotional drama in their parent’s marriage.
Puzzle Pieces
The beauty in the activated and receptive Centers lies is that individually we are all puzzle pieces – parts of a greater whole. We all become completely activated when we are all together. We each bring pieces that energetically unify us all and offer us the opportunity to express the fullness of human experience.
I may have sensed this when going out into various group environments or experiences. The circuitry designs of everyone blend together to make a collective energetic field – in scientific terms, this would refer to a combined electromagnetic field; EMFs generated by the brain and heart extend well outside of the human body.
Wherever circuitry is receptive in my design, I take energy in from the collective field of those around me. The signals I generate in my activated circuitry and transmit into the world interact with other people’s activation and signals. I’m imprinted with other people’s signals in my receptive circuitry and they take in my signals in their receptive circuitry.
Each of the nine Centers is responsible for processing specific kinds of signals.
